Bob And Wendy Build Brooklyn

Bob and Wendy Build Brooklyn is an educational game for children in grades one through three, and is designed to assist in their learning of geometry. More specifically, the game is focused on the geometric concepts of shape recognition, spatial visualization, and symmetry. Players also have the opportunity to purchase and return shapes, which assists in their understanding of basic monetary transactions. During the construction phase, the children must build structures using shapes that they have purchased from the store. Once they have purchased these shapes they will be presented with the task of fitting it in the ghost image as seen in the cover letter. This fitting process may require turning an object, or flipping it. Once the proper conformation has been found the piece will snap into place. If assistance is needed, either Bob or Wendy will be on hand for a quick review of shapes and geometry. Once all pieces have been filled, the object is complete and the player may move onto … [ more ]

Dr. Lee’s Incredible Adventures: The Eye of Ra thumbnail image

Dr. Lee’s Incredible Adventures: The Eye of Ra

The proposed game is a supplemental learning application for students both inside and outside of the classroom. The target grade levels are 6th to 8th. Because most students at these grade levels will be engaged in learning geometry (based on the curriculum of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics), the game will be geared towards applying knowledge of skills to different game scenarios and tasks. This game will not only be used as an enhancing tool in geometry, but will also provide engaging entertainment. “Dr. Lee’s Incredible Adventures: the Eye of Ra” includes numerous action—packed sequences set in the deserts and pyramids of Egypt that will appeal to students. Game obstacles include camel racing, bridge building, hawk hunting, encountering poisonous snakes, and battling grave robbers. Each level will provide exciting entertainment and at the same time will force geometric skills to be applied. The game is designed to mirror the lessons being taught in the classroom. It … [ more ]

The Chimps Save the Day thumbnail image

The Chimps Save the Day

Our game explores geometric pattern and visual spatial skills for children in the third grade. Players take the role of Chris or Crystal the Chimp, who are correcting the wrongs done by their nemesis, Arnie the Ape. The player must complete several puzzle-based levels to collect pieces to build a device capable of trapping their nemesis, Arnie the Ape. Once each pattern is complete, the player will be rewarded with one part they need to complete the device. Only by trapping Arnie the Ape will Chris or Crystal right what wrongs Arnie has committed. The player will guide Chris or Crystal in each level looking for objects that will fill in predetermined geometric patterns.

Few of the chickens of Tweedy’s farm are tired from the life of laying eggs day by day and try in various ways to escape from the farm. The owners of the farm, Mrs. & Mr. Tweedy want to get rich fast. They realize that eggs alone would not be enough, and they purchase a machine to make chicken pies “…chicken gets in…pie gets out”. Horrifying from Mrs. Tweedy’s plans, now all the chickens, motivated and led by the brave chicken Ginger, are conspiring harder to escape from the farm. Under the open eyes of Mr. Tweedy and his monstrous dogs, the chickens are trying to build a flying machine that will carry them above the farm’s fence to their freedom. The background story has the elements of achieving goals, fighting for cause and against the evil (the Tweedys) and variety of chicken characters t… [ more ]
